Trumping Tweets

It’s not news for celebrity Tweets to go viral – however, President Trump’s most recent and trending Tweets include an accusation against former President Obama.

On Mar. 4, Donald Trump went on a Tweeting rampage at 3:35 a.m., starting with, “Terrible! Just found out that Obama had my ‘wires tapped’ in Trump Tower just before the victory. Nothing found. This is McCarthyism!”

His concluding Tweet on the topic for the early morning said, “How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”

CNN wrote that, “The FBI asked the Justice Department on Saturday to refute President Donald Trump’s assertion that President Barack Obama ordered the wiretapping of Trump’s phones last year.”

“Such wiretapping would be illegal,” continued CNN, “since the President cannot just order the eavesdropping of a U.S. citizen’s phones,” making Trump’s allegations the cause of a serious case.

As the New York Times wrote, this isn’t Trump’s first accusation-without-evidence, in fact, “He claimed that more than three million people voted against him illegally in November, giving Hillary Clinton a victory in the popular vote.”

“Republican and Democratic officials alike said there was no indication of any such thing, and Mr. Trump’s promised investigation has so far led nowhere,” the New York Times continued to say.

As for Mr. Trump’s history with Barack Obama? He’s claimed Obama to have not been born in the United States, and in 2016, he claimed that the current president at the time, Obama was, “the founder of ISIS,” all according to the New York Times, and various additional sources.
President Trump ended his Tweeting spree with his per usual, “Thank you for the great rallies all across the country. Tremendous support,” and “Make America Great Again!”
