On December 27th, 2016, famous writer, actor and mental health advocate, Carrie Fisher, was pronounced dead due to heart complications which was later then confirmed as a cardiac arrest that happened while on a flight from London to Los Angeles.
Fisher was best known as playing the role of Princess Leia in George Lucas’ film of the Star Wars Saga, and had been in the film industry for 46 years. Many of her loved ones and fans were shocked of the somber news just two days after Christmas.
A day later after Fisher passed away her mother, Debbie Reynolds, passed away as well. Reynolds was an actress, singer, film historian, and humanitarian.
Reynolds starred in many historic films in the 1940’s and rose to the top of her acting career when she starred in the famous film Signing in the Rain along Gene Kelly’s side and later then appeared in various iconic Hollywood films. As for many Disney T.V lovers and younger viewers, she is well known as the role Grandma Aggie Cromwell from the Halloween Town Trilogy.
The death of both mother and daughter casted appall on Hollywood and the many fans of both during winter break season before the New Year.
Reynolds’ son, Todd Fisher, told CNN that “She spoke to me this morning and said she missed Carrie.”
Many fans believe that Reynold had passed away to broken heart syndrome also known as stress-induced cardiomyopathy or takotsubo cardiomyopathy. Is Broken Heart Syndrome a real thing you can pass aways from. Could it have been possible that Reynold passed away due to a broken heart from her daughter passing away?
Broken Heart Syndrome can strike even if you are healthy and it can even happen in an exciting or dramatic situation states the American Heart Association.
Both actresses shared a private joint funeral Thursday December 29th, at a Hollywood Hills cemetery the following day.
