The House has spoken and the word is impeachment

House Democrats have declared two articles of impeachment against President Trump, including abusing his power and obstructing Congress. The President has also been accused of pressuring Ukraine into digging up information on Joe Biden’s son, which is an illegal act. Pelosi is calling it a violation of the law and a betrayal of his oath; however, Trump claims he has done nothing wrong.

It has been said that Pelosi is planning on moving forward with the impeachment before the end of the year.

Republicans don’t seem too happy with the way things are going, specifically how fast Pelosi is moving it all along. However, Trump even said, “if you’re going to impeach me, do it now, fast, so we can have a fair…. trial in the Senate, and so that our country can get back to business,” as reported by the Washington Post.

Although Trump is saying this, he has not made it too easy on Pelosi throughout this inquiry.

According to Slate, “The strategy was twofold: To inflame the suspicions and resentments of Trump’s most ardent supporters and, by denying even obvious facts, sow confusion among those just now focusing on this scandal.” They are saying that Republicans have been trying to distract from the evidence by acting up about the impeachment.

Nevertheless, Pelosi still has plans to go through with the impeachment, aiming for before Christmas. We’ll have to wait and see how the Senate votes.
